Tube Tester Model
Found: 546 Hickok working model, with original manual?
As I said, I found a model tester Hickok 546 Tube in storage seems to be all original. I have no knowledge of how to work the drive, but have asked a friend and say it works like a champ. Its seems everything including original manual that came with it. Probably hasn't been used in over 25 years or so ... Can anyone tell me of their value or if someone really needs to as old piece of electronic diagnoses. test equipment? If so, where do you sell besides eBay? Weizenguard Hello, yes, yes, there is a market for these devices. You just have to do a search on the web and find many testers offers vintage tube. Many people are actively involved in the restoration, use, tube electronics and love. You seem to have a winner here, Hickok, as is widely respected in the market for tube tester. They made dozens of different models and different degrees of complexity and quality. I noticed a difference in your photos, as the manual is for model 547, not 546. That seems a bit strange, perhaps it was only a slight variant? I found a cached page to include a model of 546 at # 92.67 at Vintage Electronics, but I think it sold. I found one that Hickok sold for $ 800.00, but it was a different model than yours, and that seems too high. Just look to see how much there are selling for. Your particular model does not appear at this time, but keep looking on ebay for see what the testers are being sold by Hickok. Take a look. Tube Tester Question?
I have a "Superior Instruments Model TD-55" test tube here since 1958 and I have a question. It has a button to select the filament voltage, but the values are labeled "A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, J" and I'm not sure what voltage corresponds to each letter. Can anyone help me with this? Bill: know how the pipe name system (IE: 12AX7 can use 12 volt filament as you explain). The problem is that the line is labeled A to J without any indication as to what voltage is put out in every setting, and no I do not have a card to go with it.
